A Message from Monsignor Rupert

Updated: Jan 14, 2020

Dear friends in Christ,

Over the past several weeks, we have witnessed the catastrophic destruction brought about by numerous natural disasters across the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. While we cannot all provide physical comfort to those affected, let us join in prayer and ask our Lord and Savior to console and guide our brothers and sisters as they begin the long and arduous task of rebuilding their homes and lives.

Almighty and eternal God, we offer to your loving care all whose lives have been forever changed by recent natural disasters: comfort the victims of the wildfires in the western United States; pour out your mercy on our brothers and sisters in the Caribbean facing catastrophic devastation; protect all who evacuate communities and seek shelter in the path of Hurricane Irma; sustain those affected by the earthquake in Mexico in their trials; strengthen all engaged in the recovery efforts following Hurricane Harvey and those beginning the long process of rebuilding their lives.

Finally, merciful Lord, may the souls of all who have lost their lives rest in peace, and may their loved ones come to know the consolation of your love. All this we ask in the Name of your Son Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

To provide financial assistance to those in affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, you may donate to Catholic Charities USA at any time by visiting https://catholiccharitiesusa.org/. Your financial sacrifice will provide comfort and hope to those most impacted by these historic storms. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
